Established as one of Gold Coast’s largest community events, the Gold Coast Greek Festival showcases the vibrant Greek culture at its best and attracts over thousands of food-lovers and festival goers each year.
Hosted once again by the Gold Coast Greek Community, the 2015 Gold Coast Greek Festival will see Evandale Parklands turn Greek on 11th October – as patrons can enjoy the delectable aromas and tastes of authentic Greek cooking, coupled with non-stop entertainment and activities running all day, from 9.30am to 5.30pm.
Offering the perfect mix of lively and vibrant entertainment, including Zorba dances, plate smashing and bouzouki playing, an endless supply of traditional Greek cuisine, made up of mouth-watering souvlaki, grilled octopus, Loukoumi, baklava and thousands of loukoumades (honey puffs) and its Hellenic hospitality – the much-anticipated community event allows Gold Coasters to experience the best of Greek culture without leaving town.
Proudly representing the 2500 plus local Greek community, who have been a part of Gold Coast’s multicultural community for over 50 years – Gold Coast Greek Festival co-chairperson Sandra Voukelatos said she was excited to once again be staging one of the biggest food and wine festivals on the Coast.
The Gold Coast Greek Festival has become a major event for the Gold Coast over the past decade, and it is a great chance for people of all backgrounds and ages to experience the festive Greek culture. Greek people are best known for their hospitable nature and they enjoy nothing more than to share their food, wine and dance with guests. With the added help of extra volunteers this year, we are certain the upcoming Greek Festival will be a fun day had by all.
